Session recall, before the panic

Know what is missing before you open the session.

PIK Scan checks DAW sessions against the plugins on your Mac, then exports a clean report you can send before the recall starts.

macOS beta. Local scan. No client session upload.

Supported formats

Built for real recall traffic, not a demo folder.

PIK Scan reads the session formats engineers actually exchange, plus the WAV metadata issue that often breaks Pro Tools handoffs.

.ptxPro Tools

Plugin inventory for recall prep, missing-plugin review and portable HTML reporting.

.cprCubase

Parse project plugin references and catch WAV handoff risks before they reach another room.

.nprNuendo

Designed for post and Atmos-adjacent handoffs where session compatibility gets expensive fast.

.rppREAPER

Read text-based sessions quickly and separate installed plugins from what still needs action.

.waviXML check

Detect stereo files that Pro Tools may split into A1/A2 and write clean fixed copies in batch.

The scan

One drop. Five answers.

PIK Scan turns plugin recall into a simple status readout, with the missing pieces separated from the noise.

01

Session plugin inventory

Drop a session and get a readable list of every plugin it references, grouped by what is installed, built in, shell-hosted or missing.

02

Missing plugin links

The report links missing vendors back to their official sites, so the next step is obvious instead of another search spiral.

03

Portable HTML reports

Export a clean HTML report for collaborators, assistants or another room without sending the original client session.

WAV compatibility

It also fixes the WAV problem Pro Tools users keep meeting.

Some Cubase and Nuendo stereo WAV exports carry iXML metadata that makes Pro Tools split them into .A1 and .A2 files. PIK Scan detects that risk and can write a clean stereo copy while preserving the audio bytes.

Read the manual

PT_SPLIT_RISK

iXML detected
  • Detects iXML split risk
  • Batch fix for multiple WAVs
  • Keeps the original file untouched

Who it helps

Built for the handoff before the session.

Mix engineers

Open old recalls knowing the missing-plugin list before the client is waiting.

Assistants

Prepare rooms, rentals and plugin installs with one shareable report.

Studios

Check incoming sessions and WAV deliveries before they hit the main system.

Details

Beta notes.

Does PIK Scan upload my session?

No. The scan runs locally on your Mac and the HTML report is generated locally.

Which formats are supported in the beta?

Pro Tools .ptx, Cubase .cpr, Nuendo .npr, REAPER .rpp and WAV compatibility checks.

Is this the same app as PIK Pro Player?

No. It shares the PIK family, but PIK Scan is focused on session compatibility and plugin recall.

Can I send the report without sending the session?

Yes. The exported HTML report is meant to be shared without attaching the original client session.
